Our Mission
At Ann’s Heart, our mission is to empower women in Lane County, Oregon, by providing an accessible, welcoming shelter along with essential resources and pathways to permanent housing.
We believe that a safe home is the starting point for a woman to rebuild her life with hope and renewed purpose. By offering a safe shelter and individualized support, we give unhoused women the resources and stability to begin to rebuild their lives.
• Provide safe transitional housing for all types of women who are without housing in the Lane County, Oregon area
• Provide for the physical safety and autonomy of women and the provision of space and time for healing from trauma
• Provide Community and Community Building in the provision of such housing

Who we are
The work of our grassroots organization began in 2016 through meal programs for the unhoused in Springfield, OR. We listened to the needs of the women and resoundingly heard the need of shelter for women that was stable, safe, and allowed guests to recover from trauma on their own terms.
Our founders continued to work with the local unhoused, and Ann’s Heart became a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2021. We raised money and applied for grants, and then in December of 2023, we opened the doors to our first shelter home.
In 2024, we hired shelter staff including house managers and a case manager. We provided housing for over a dozen women in our first year of operation and are continuing to grow and expand our resources.
